There’s no better feeling than being in love is there? It was only fitting that our AW’13 fashion show revolved around love because it has been a beautiful love affair with fashion for the last 20 years and counting and we couldn’t have picked a better theme for the fashion show.
We wanted to paint the town red and hence we settled on a “shades of red” dress code for the 27th of September at Madinat Jumeirah. There were 3 shows as usual – 5:30 PM, 7:30 PM and 10 PM.
All the three shows were packed and everyone dressed up in their fashionable best and channeling their inner love guru!
Love isn’t always rosy and we wanted to showcase the dark side of love too, resulting in showcasing pieces that took on the dark romance tone.
The show opened up with a narration of what we felt ‘love’ is followed up with the curtains rising and to everyone’s surprise, the sight of a romantic layout of a swing set with a model swinging surrounded by fog creating a very dreamy aura.
The fashion show showcased a few boho meet tribal looks and featured a bit of an Aztec touch too! A part from the pop of bright red, the rest of the colors were more on the subtle side teamed up with bright accessories.
The show took a ‘celebrate the comeback of plaid’ route and out walked the models in plaid outfits like trench coats, pant suits and zipper jackets.
The show took a different turn as we started showcasing the different side of love….the dark side! Our romance leaned towards dark romance and out came the hues of dark blue and black that dominated the ramp from there on!
There wasn’t just one jaw dropping moment during the show, there were two! Two fabulous LED dresses lit up the runway throughout the course of the show and caught everyone’s attention acquiring appreciative reactions from the audience.
After the 10PM show ended, the much awaited Splash after party commenced with the backdrop rising and revealing the hidden party hub that everyone rushed to, to have some fun! Parvathy Omanakuttan, former Miss India, joined in the party (she walked the ramp too) along with all the who’s who of the fashion industry.
It was definitely the best fashion show we’ve had till date but it only gets bigger and better from here on!
