Chennai Express was already touted as the biggest movie to be released in 2013 before it even saw the light of day. After all, it comprises of all the ingredients needed to make a Bollywood blockbuster: lots of color, great music and - most importantly - Shahrukh Khan. Add in Bollywood’s favorite leading lady, Deepika Padukone, and you have a match made in heaven.
A week into its release, the film has broken all box office records, not only in India but also across the UK and USA. The promotional tour of the film extended to Dubai, where the stars held a special iftar for fans among other events during a 2 day stint in the Emirate.
